Saturday 19th April St Martins (Away)
St Martins 0 v 2 Luton Borough Blues
The game started with Dan in goal for the absent Oliver. Within the opening
minutes Dan was called into action to make a good save. However for the majority of the rest of the half had little to do.
Borough worked hard and looked like a team hungry for a victory. After some good pressure from Harry forced the goalkeeper
into a Jay finished into an open goal. Borough passed, tackled, moved and performed well as a team.
Half time 0 – 1
Sub Harry for Marky, Coban for Ryan, Callum for Tom. Borough again came out
wanting to win chasing every ball, winning tackles and working hard for each other. Marky was performing well combining with
Ryan. It was these two who created and scored the goal. Marky was quick to get
the ball from the goalkeepers poor kick, his shot was well saved and Ryan was quick to get the rebound in off the post.
Well done lads great effort. Same next week with hard work we can do well.
Scores – Jay, Ryan

Saturday 12th April AFC Luton B (Home)
Luton Borough 0 v AFC Luton B 1
Borough lined up with the team that finished last week. Borough defended well
for the majority of the first half before an uncleared ball bounce back across the box for AFC to score from. Thomas came
close from a Dan corner.
Half time 0 - 1
In the second half Dan swapped with Oliver in goal. Borough again this half
defended well and dealt with the pressure from AFC well. In the second half Matt experimented with the team. Oliver played
well in midfield as well as Tom in the centre. The whole team performed well, especially by tackled hard.
Remember when tackling not to turn your back. Firstly you will be passed easily
and made to look silly and you may get hurt.
Scores – None
Starting Line up – Oliver, Faraaz, Thomas, Dan, Jay, Callum, Tom
Subs – Harry, Coban
Man of the Match - Faraaz
Saturday 29th March AFC Luton A (Away)
AFC Luton 3 v Luton Borough Dragons Blue 1
Borough this week came up against AFC Luton A again. AFC needed to win to the
league. Borough had only one sub. To start Borough defended well and absorbed lots of AFC pressure. Blocks from Faraaz, Dan
and saves from Oliver kept the game level. Borough looked dangerous on the counter attack and recreated a few chances. However
it was the most unlikely of scores who put Borough into the lead. From just inside his own half from a defensive clearance
Faraaz got the ball to bounce clear over the keeper and into the back on the net. A great goal for his first for Borough.
Many more please. Half time 1 – 1
In the second half Borough continued to defend well. Subs Thomas swapped with
Tom. Borough began to tire as AFC took full advantage of fresh legs. Some confusion in the box from a cross allowed AFC their
first and quickly after a second followed. To the credit of the boys they continued to fight Oliver making good saves and
Ryan, Jay, Callum and Tom Bombing forward to try to rescue the game. Dan and Faraaz tackled and worked had to close down the
opposition. AFC score again but Borough continued to go forward. Tom came close from a corner just hitting the ball over.

Saturday 29th March AFC Luton A (Home)
Luton Borough Dragons Blue 1 v AFC Luton 3
A short played Borough sided came up against the league leaders this week.
In a game where Borough players showed great character and performed extremely well. AFC went ahead early on in the game.
Jay levelled shortly after with a determined run and shot which almost broke the net. Moments later Oliver made a cracking
double save keeping the scores level. Few minutes later Oliver was again called in to action catching well. Oliver was having
a great game like the other Borough players. Half time 1 – 1
In the second half Borough started to tired and the tough pitch took its toll
on the players. How Borough still created chances and made AFC work for the points. Faraaz was moved to midfield and Thomas
to the back due to injuries. AFC scored and Borough moved to up front to try to get back into the game and lacking the vital
last pass to finish off the game. Towards the end Borough slowed and allowed AFC space enabling them to have a free shoot
on goal which found its way into the bottom corner.
Scorers – Jay
Starting Line up – Oliver, Faraaz, Dan, Thomas, Jay, Coburn, Ryan

Man of the Match – Oliver
Saturday 16th March Crawley Green (Away)
Crawley Green 1 v 1 Luton Borough Dragons Blue
In a rather tired and sloppy first half Borough looked nothing like the team
of old. The ball was just booted up front. There was not hassle or urgency in the play. Crawley was given time and space to pass the ball and given far
too much respect. However they rarely threatened our goal. Half time 0 – 0.
Harry swapped with Coburn, Callum with Tom and Marky for Ryan. These changes
seemed to bring more energy and renewed hope to the game. Borough pressed and looked dangerous from corners. Coburn came close
twice before guiding the ball back across the box for Jay to guide the ball home. Borough continued to push with Ryan coming
close on two occasions. However we switched off allowing Crawley back into the game in the last few minutes.
Scorer – Jay
Starting Line up – Oliver, Faraaz, Dan, Jay, Marky, Harry, Callum
Subs – Ryan, Tom, Thomas, Coburn
Man of the Match - Callum
Saturday 8th March Luton United (Home)
Luton Borough Dragons Blue 3 v 1 Luton United
In a poor start Borough failed to release the ball. Although chances were created
the lack of passing and talking along with some great saves from the opposing keeper kept the score level. Marky swapped with
Coburn. This introduction seemed to add more energy and urgency. An improved performance from Marky saw more promising chances
coming our way.
Oliver was commanding his area well being vocal and brave. We were delighted
to see Oliver picking the ball up and kicking well from hands.
Half time 0 – 0
Harry was released by Marky and coolly slotted his shoot into the back of the
net. Harry was then released again and scored his second. This shows how when we pass and move we can score. Callum swapped
with Thomas, Marky changed with Tom and Coburn returned for the hard working Harry. Jay secured the win after passing 2 defenders
a squeezing his shot past the keeper. Although this was not our best performance it was good to see battling. Passing and
movement is the key to scoring when this was finally done we looked dangerous and created good chances.
Scorers – Harry 2, Jay
Starting Line up – Oliver, Faraaz, Thomas, Jay, Callum, Coburn, Harry
Subs – Tom, Marky, Thomas
Man of the Match - Oliver
Saturday 1st March Luton Leagrave Orange (Away)
Luton Leagrave Orange 2 v 2 Luton Borough Dragons Blue
Luton started
off brightly moving the ball and creating changes early on. Harry and Coburn looked to be a good partnership with some good
runs and passing. Oliver was playing well picking up loose balls and kicking well out of hands. Jay was battling hard and
working backwards and forwards. The first goal came from persistence from Harry and Coburn. Harry had a number of shots block
by the keeper and defenders before the ball dropped to Coburn who hit the ball with venom into the back of the net. Borough
looked comfortable keeping the ball and stopping Leagrave attacking. It was an unusual mistake at the back by Faraaz which
lead to the first goal for Leagrave. After Faraaz tripped on the ball leaving the Leagrave attacker one on one with Oliver. Oliver was let with no chance from the finish. Borough continued to battle and worked
hard all over the pitch. Good tackling and determination was visible through out the half. Half time 1 - 1
Leagrave went in front from a corner in which players ducked out the way and
hit Dan to go into his own goal. Oliver continued with his big kicks which still caused problems for Leagrave. One of which
Harry cam close with a well struck volley. Coburn again coursing problems for the Leagrave defence hit the post which Harry
found the rebound to score from close range. Thomas swapped with Callum. The tired Coburn was subbed with Ryan.
Communication needs to be louder. Players who want the ball and know they are
in a good position or are not marked should scream and shout to let others know. Also working as team requires players to
listen to others calls when a ball is coming. If a player calls for the ball they should let that player have it. Lastly players
need to give each other information such as ‘man on’ and ‘time’ to allow players to have a touch.
Too many players are now just blasting the ball away. We need to get back to passing and moving the ball.
Scores – Coburn, Harry
Starting Line up – Oliver, Faraaz, Dan, Thomas, Jay, Coburn, Harry
Subs – Ryan, Callum, Tom
Man of the Match - Coburn
Saturday 23rd February Crawley Green Owls (Home)
Luton Borough Dragons Blue 2 v 1 Crawley Green Owls
Today’s game was a tail of two half’s. The first lack the edge
needed to unlock the defence, bite, concentration and positioning. The second had fight, desire, passing and moving and shoots
but most importantly goals.
Borough pressed for most of the first half after a few minutes of well defended
corners with Jay heading clear. Borough hand the ball for most of the half but failed to do anything with it. Crawley counter attacked on a few occasions
where Faraaz and Oliver kept them at bay. Some good kicking from Oliver set up
some attacks. We also saw dominance from Oliver to see commanding his area.
Half time 0 – 0
The second half started brightly. Coburn who had come on for Thomas worked
hard forwards and backwards coming close with a shot come cross which Marky just failed to reach. Marky had come on for Callum.
However it was Crawley
who scored first. Allowing a player to run unchallenged, turn and shoot. However Borough continued to press and create chances.
Jay, Marky and Harry all tested the unsure looking Crawley keeper. It was from a ball in the air that Borough scored from. A pin point corner from Dan saw
Harry header in from a yard at the near post. Borough continued to press with Harry, Marky and Jay all coming close with efforts
either just wide or saved. But it was Dan who secured the points after a foul. Dan placed the ball and then curled it beautifully
into the top corner.
Thing which players need to concentrate on. Concentration, Watch the player
not the ball and follow. To many player to day watched as their or players ran past them. Also positioning look at where you
are and where your team mates are. If a player has moved out of position talk to them or drop into their spot. Also before
running forward look to see if there are attackers left free behind you.
Scores – Harry, Dan
Starting Line Up – Oliver, Dan, Faraaz, Thomas, Jay, Callum, Harry
Subs – Marky, Jake, Coburn
Man of the Match – Harry
Saturday 2nd February St Martins (Away)
St Martins 3 v 2 Luton Borough Dragons Blue
On a rather heavy and sticky pitch Borough formed up in their usual 2 –
3 – 1 formation. With a change at the back seeing Thomas H taking the position of Faraaz. Callum’s recent excellent
performances were rewarded with a well deserved position in the starting line up. Borough started off showing how they mean
to go on attacking from the off. Jay, Marky and Harry combined well with Marky just shooting wide from just outside the box.
Borough quickly won the ball back from the goal kick with the ball being played to Marky free in the box to convert the goal.
Borough continued to press with corners from Dan and Marky working will in midfield. St Martins were good on the break and
hit the post early on. Moments later a corner which wasn’t cleared by Thomas H, Faraaz saw the ball bounce past the
unsighted Oliver who had previously called for the ball. Luton again attacked and pressured the defence forcing move corners. Marky again came close from a well
hit corner from Dan which very one missed and Marky, charging in late at the back shot just wide. Moments later Dan had a
free kick just inside the St Martins half. Dan hit the sweetest free kick you will ever see. Gasps from the crowd as the ball
hit the bar. Borough were on the front foot another corner from Dan was converted by the smallest player in the box, Callum.
His hard working performance were finally rewarded with the goal he deserved. Harry took a knock and was subbed for Coban.
Half time 2 - 1
In the second half Faraaz came on for Callum and Thomas H moved up to Midfield.
Ex Borough player stole a goal from team mate by sliding in on the line. Marky ran round the last defender with the ref some
how missing a large kick being connected with his leg. Thomas C came on and held the ball well and Harry came back on for
the hurt Marky. Harry came close to getting borough back into the game seeing his shot just go wide. St Martins scored again
to win the one sided match which saw Borough come so close and the ref miss so much.
Scores – Marky, Callum
Starting line up – Oliver, Dan, Thomas H, Marky, Jay, Callum, Harry
Subs – Thomas C, Faraaz, Coban, Tom
Man of the Match – Dan
Saturday 9th February St Martins (Home)
Luton Borough Dragons Blue 2 v 1 St Martins
Borough only made one change from the team which started last week seeing Callum
swap with Ryan. Again Borough pressed but it was St Martins who struck first, when a player was let unmarked at the back post.
Dan’s corners were coursing problems for the St Martins defence. And it
was from a Dan corner which Borough scored the equaliser. Dan’s corner fell in the area with the ball being poked away
from Thomas found its way to jay who rounded a defender and slammed the ball home.
Borough again where on top with Oliver hardly being called into action until
a player broke free and shot wide after pressure from Oliver. Half time 1 - 1
Borough continued to battled and press for a win. Marky came on for Ryan, Coban
on for Thomas and Callum on for Harry who had all worked hard. Borough continued to press with again St Martins failing to
threaten. Oliver had catching practice as he had an easy half of just collecting loose passes. Jay battled well through the
game. A foul on him lead to the winning goal. Dan placed the ball just inside the St Martins half. Dan hit the ball high and
it flew into the top left corner with the keeper and players watch as it settled in the net. Moments later Dan came off after
a knock when falling badly for Harry.
Borough deserved this win with a good battling performance. Some good tackling,
some good marking and passing.
Scores – Jay, Dan

did seem to drop at times.
Half time 1 - 0
Harry scored at the near post. Eaton Bray free kick quickly taken scored while
Borough argued. Subs Thomas for Ryan, Coburn for Callum. Another Eaton Bray breakaway saw Oliver and the defence beaten. Headed clearance by Oliver good header but hands please.

Saturday 26th January AFC Luton B (Away)
AFC Luton B 0 v 1 Luton Borough Dragons Blue
After 2 weeks with no game Borough came up against AFC Luton B who in the reverse
fixture beat us at home 2 nil. Borough started with there usual 2-3-1. For much of the first half Borough cautiously felt their
way into the game. Borough slowly started to create chances with Harry, Marky and Jay forcing the keeper into making saves.
At the other end Borough had to defend well to deny AFC a goal on two occasions. Once after a clearance by Oliver landed at
the feet of an AFC midfielder whose shot was cleared of the line by Oliver who was scrambling back to goal. On the second
occasion Oliver came off his line quickly to put off the AFC striker and Dan to clear.
Borough continued to attack with Marky and Harry causing problems. Borough scored as Jay rounded two players and hit
his shot to the near post which the keeper pushed on to the post he was unlucky as the ball bounced of the post and on to
his back. Half Time 0 – 1
In the second half Tom came on for the injured Marky. 5 minutes later Thomas
C came on for Harry, Callum came on for Faraaz and Ryan on for Thomas. Borough continued to press with Callum adding width
and Thomas C holding up the ball well. Dan had a free kick which hit the rather close wall and Callum came close on two occasions.
AFC pressed and looked for an equaliser. Oliver, Dan and Jay defended well ensuring every one was marked and closed down quickly.
For the last few minutes Jay came off and swapped with Thomas to help secure the win.
This was a good battling performance with some excellent hold up play, good
running and passing. Well done lads same again and more next week.

Saturday
5th January Luton United (Away)
Luton United 0 v 3 Luton Borough Dragons Blue
Borough came out fighting in the first game back after the Christmas break.
Within moments Borough were testing the United keeper. With Coburn performing well turning the defence and linking well with
Tom and Jay a goal looked certain. It was Coburn who got the break through goal. A bursting run from Jay and a well placed
pass put Coburn through who passed the ball into the net passed the keeper. Borough
pressed and searched for a second goal. Tom came close hitting the post after the ball was crossed by Jay. Thomas pushing
forward just shot wide and Jays powerful shot just went over while under pressure. Borough played some lovely football with
good movement. Oliver was falling asleep in goal with little to go. The only down note was a wild challenge by Jay which both
Matt and Simon were unhappy with. Jay understands the seriousness of tackling properly. Half time – 0 v 1.
In a more completive second half United started to compete. Ryan came on for
Jay upfront. Borough continued where they left off pressing the United team back into there own half. Oliver was called upon
twice in this half. Once to clear the ball with the strikers running towards him. Just moments later the United striker long
range shot hit the inside of the post and bounced out leaving Oliver no chance. A free man left in the middle was found by
the united midfield. Called in to quick action was Oliver who bravely dived at the player’s feet to make a great save.
Callum came on for Coburn who had given his all in the much improved performance. The
second goal can as Dan pushed forward with confidence and dribbled through the midfield and fired his shot into the bottom
corner. With a few minutes to go Thomas’s persistence was rewarded with a goal.
This was a game played at a good speed and with the passing and commitment
that Matt and Simon have been asking for. There where a few man of the match contenders this week and it was a hard decision.
We like to have a hard decision but only when you perform like this.

22th December Luton Borough Dragons Red (Home Friendly)
Luton Borough Dragons Blue 1 v 3 Luton Borough Dragons Red
As we approach the end of the year, a friendly was planned against the team
we started the season against. The Reds in a league below us have had an unbelievable season so far. Borough started with
Jake and Dan at the back giving Jake his first opportunity to play for us. A normal midfield of Jay, Thomas and Tom with the
improving Coburn alone up top. Borough seemed to not want to be a team and played football as if they didn’t know each
other. They were punished as the Reds scored early on.
In the second half the Reds scored two again both on the break carving thorough
Borough as if they were the team a league above. Boroughs only goal came from a hopeful punt from defender Dan whose kick
went high in the air leaving the keeper with no chance. Borough had bouts of
pressure but didn’t do anything with it. The most attacking threat that Borough provided was Coburn. On numerous occasions
he created problems and was unlucky not to score after leaving three defenders for dead and only a great save kept Coburn
of the score sheet.
Scores – Dan
Starting Line Up – Oliver, Dan, Jay, Jake, Coburn, Thomas, Tom
Subs – Faraaz, Harry, Callum
Man of the Match – Coburn
Saturday 15th December Luton Leagrave Orange (Home)
Luton Borough Dragons Blue 2 v 0 Luton Leagrave Orange
In a late kick off Borough started with the usual 2–3-1 formation. It was back to the Borough
we all love to watch. The whole game was bursting with commitment, energy and desire from the Borough boys. On a fairly poor
pitch which tested even Matt’s balance at times, Borough were the first to strike. Half way through the first half the
ill and injured Jay made way for Thomas in a more advanced position than he was used to in the centre of midfield. Borough
kept their positional discipline which lead to Oliver only being called upon once to clear the ball. Leagrave were kept at
arms length with Dan and Faraaz working well to clear any potential threat, Leagrave had a few corners which were ineffective.
The hard working Marky had a number of runs at the Leagrave defence, and he was finally rewarded towards the end of the half
as he rounded the defence and tucked the ball into the corner of the net from a tight angle. Half time score 1-0
In the second half Tom was replaced by Coburn. Again it was Borough who played the better football
for much of the half. Leagrave had some pressure with a succession of corners which Borough easily dealt with. Borough pressed
and created many chances. Callum found him self one on one with the keeper and shot just wide. Again Callum who was having
a great game came up against the keeper this time only a good save kept Leagrave in the game.
But it was the most unlikely of players who made the assist for Borough, Faraaz forced his way through the Leagrave
midfield before being blocked off by a Leagrave defender, this leaving both players on the floor claiming a free kick, whilst
everyone else stopped Coburn controlled the ball and lashed the ball home. Full time score 2-0
This was a performance both Matt and Simon had longed for we all know this is how we can play.
With more games like this we could well finish the season with a trophy. Let’s keep the winning run till the end of
the season.
Scores – Marky, Coburn

Saturday
8th December Eaton Bray Lions (Away)
Eaton Bray Lions 4 v 3 Luton Borough Blue Dragons
On a rather wet Saturday at Eddlesborough, Borough started slowly.
Within the first 10 minutes we found ourselves down by three after a disputed 1st goal, a great 2nd
goal and a bad defensive mistake for the 3rd. After some good pressure and good attacks Borough pushed and pushed
producing a good cross from a wide position which found Tom who had found himself at the back post unmarked to slide the ball
into an empty net. After absorbing some more Eaton Bray pressure Jay single handily scored after drifting past challenges
and slotting the ball home passed the Eaton keeper who came out to narrow the angle. Borough switched off after scoring the
2nd and conceded a sloppy 4th goal.
Half time 4 – 2
The second half saw the introduction of Callum and Marky in place
of Coburn and Ryan. Borough pressed and pushed throughout the whole of the second half. Any time the ball came into the Borough
half it was dealt with Faraaz or Dan who had a great game covering the defence. Oliver also played his part with coming of
his line to clear the ball back into Eaton Bray half. A number of corners resulted in a long clearance falling to Faraaz whose
long range shot was turned in by Tom who played the ball passed the Eaton Bray keeper. Continuing pressure saw us come close
with a number of shots and corners. The second half display showed determination and spirit which Matt and Simon were very
pleased with after the slow start, if we can start like we finish games we will win more than we lose unlucky lads.
Scores – Tom 2, Jay
Starting Line Up – Oliver, Faraaz, Dan, Tom, Jay, Coburn,
Ryan
Subs – Marky, Callum
Man of the Match – Dan
Saturday 1st
December Crawley Green Owls (Away)
Crawley Green Owls 2 v 2 Luton Borough Blue Dragons
First half started with a very lacklustre performance. Harry coming close from a good throw from
Thomas was on of the few highlights as Borough watched and allowed Crawley to play their own game with little pressure. Despite this Oliver was only called into service
once to pick the ball out of the net as a fluked shoot lobbed him. Half time score 1 – 0
Second half saw Faraaz, Coburn, Marky and Dan all introduced. A more vocal and hungry team this
half with some players maybe trying to do too much. Harry scored with the ball just trickling over the line. Some good play
by Coburn was rewarded with a goal. A shot finally hit with conviction fizzed through a crowd of players into the back of
the net. Borough started to get complacent leaving Faraaz exposed at the ball. Players again not releasing the ball and tracking
back cost us all the points in a game we should have won.
Scores – Harry, Coburn
Starting Line Up – Oliver, Jay, Thomas, Ryan, Callum, Tom, Harry
Subs – Dan, Coburn, Marky, Faraaz Man of the Match – Coburn
Saturday 17th November AFC Luton A (Home)
Luton Borough Blue Dragons 0 v 2 AFC Luton B
The first half started very well for Borough as they linked together and produced some good football,
chances fell to Marky, Harry and Coburn in a 1st half that saw Borough do every thing but score. Oliver was more
a spectator in the 1st half with not much to do. Harry who the previous week was substituted early in the 2nd
half was putting a fine display up front with good movement his reward nearly came from a corner taken by Marky who was hitting
the area with all corners. Despite all the 1st half pressure Borough could not score and the half ended a stalemate. 0-0
The 2nd half saw Ryan, Dan, Thomas and Callum all making appearances, however this did unsettle
the team and it took time for the team to get going in the 2nd period. Jay whose running box to box was excellent
sadly an injury mid way through the half saw him withdraw and Tom return to the field, minutes later Ryan who was challenged
heavily had to be replaced by Harry who came back on with the enthusiasm he had shown in the 1st half. Shortly
after the changes a slip at the back saw AFC Luton steal their 1st goal, possibly their first real attack of the
game. Marky was reintroduced and Borough went looking for the equaliser which seemed like it would never come. Again great
movement from Harry went to waste and it just looked like being one of those days. Just to make matters worst despite Oliver’s
best efforts to prevent a second goal being scored AFC Luton got the final nail in the coffin and Borough were 2 down with
