MATCH REPORTS

Sunday 18th October
Flamstead B 3 Luton Borough 2

Again the boys where unlucky not to come away with all three points, In a game where the ref was being influence by the home team. The game started very brightly with Boro having or should i say wasting some good chances to take the lead. Then half way through the first half Boro thought they had gone one nil up, only for the ref to rule it out for offside after one of the Flamstead parents who was walking behind the goal to shout off side and there linesman put his flag up. Then what was to follow was again well and truly against sportsmanship. Flamstead had a shoot which just went wide off the post, (GOALKICK I HEAR YOU SAY), Thats what the ref awarded only for the Flamstead manager and his assistant to shout at the ref for a corner, and thats exactly what he gave. And from the resulting corner flamstead scored. Luton Borough finally got the goal they deserved, A great through ball from midfield put Jack Mcdermott through who calmly slotted the ball past there keeper. At half time we told the boys to keep doing what they where doing. Then as the second half got under way the boys where trying ever so hard to get a second goal, but as hard as we where trying it just wasnt are day. Flamstead then went two up after some bad defending by boro. With time running out Flamstead got a third to kill of the game or we thought they had.  As i said time was not on are side, so 30 seconds from normal time Boro scored with Teni Alli-Fulania heading past there keeper to make it 3-2 Flamstead. As we where expecting a couple of minutes injury time, do my surprise(or not) the ref blew for full time.
man of the match-tony-lee read for his hard battling at the heart of defence.
Mangers comment's
In a game where the ref was being influenced, The boys tried ever so hard today. The past few games have been of the highest quality and we only just lost by the odd goal. Keep up the hard work boys and you will get the right result. WELL DONE.
