Eaton Bray Lions 2 - 5 Luton Borough Youth

                     Goalscorers:
                     Dave (1)
                     Marcus (1)
                     Dominic (2)
                     Andy (1)

Luton went into this game havin not played for a significant number of weeks, and lacking in match fitness. This was obvious in the early stages of the match as Luton failed to reach the form they are capable of. Concentration wandered once Borough went one up and Eaton took advantage by stealing the lead. Borough drew level at half time and finished the half rather rusty.
A kick up the backside was all the boys needed and they soon found themselves three goals to the good.
This was a great game to clean up a few cobwebs.

Luton Borough Youth 6 - 2 Dunstable St. Marys

                     Goalscorers:
                    Dave (1)
                    Rocky (1)
                    Aaron (1)
                    Adam (1)
                    Milon (2)

Borough flew out of the traps this sunday and put six great goals past Dunstable. A controversial decision to play regular goalkeeper Adam Weston outfield paid off when he pulled a magical diving header out of the bag in the second half.
Luton keep the pressure on Limbury who are buckled this week and are now only one point away from Luton. This makes the next meeting between Luton and Limbury very interesting!

10/12/06

Saint Martins 2 - 4 Luton Borough Youth

                     Goalscorers:
                     Dave (1)
                     Aaron (3)

Luton came out on top this week against stiff oppostion. It took alot of work to beat Saint Martins and the boys certainly put it in.
Some of the best football the lads have played all season broke down Saint Martins' midfield.
Also, new set peice tactics are proving very useful.
All in all a great performance, and a needed win which heaps pressure onto Limbury Saints at the top, who only managed a draw this week and are now only 4 points ahead.

Luton Borough Youth 5 - 0 Eaton Bray Lions

                     Goalscorers:
                     Dave (1)
                     Rocky (1)
                     Aaron (1)
                     Dom (2)

Luton were lucky to have their game go ahead as most pitches were water-logged, and their cup game last week was called off.
Borough managed to get the game going and broke through early on. The goals steadily piled up, and with goal difference in mind, managed to put 5 past Eaton Bray.
The Lions' manager, admirably approached Luton's Manager and captain to compliment Borough on their standard of football, the spirit of their game, and the heroics of the respectable stand-in goalkeeper Niall Sexton.
Eaton Bray Manager - " I don't mind losing 5 - 0 to you..."

The lads seem to be back on track.

12/11/06

Luton Borough Youth 1 - 2 Limbury Saints

                         Goalscorers:
                         Milon (1)

Luton threw away a lead that would have took them clear top.
A pathetic refereeing display allowed the Limbury keeper to blatantly handle outside the box without so much as a freekick.
This defeat gives Luton a small mountain to climb in order to win the league, and they cannot afford any more slip-ups.

05/11/06

Houghton Wanderers 6 - 1 Luton Borough Youth

                                          Goalscorers
                                        Marcus (1)

Luton may aswell have not turned up to this game.
A complacent performance by the lads saw them crumble. A needed wake-up call for Borough.

29/10/06

Luton Borough Youth 7 - 2 NGS FC

     Goalscorers:
     Dominic (1)
     Dave (2)
     Chris (1)
     Andy (1)
     Aaron (1)
     Daz (1)

Luton won their match after a 3 week rest. It took most of the first half for Borough to find their stride but the deadlock was finally broken by Dominic's surging run.
A little match fitness was clearly missing but the lads had just enough to carry them through. Debuts for Nick and Keiran were also included.
An appauling lack of concentration saw NGS put 2 late goals past our defence. Overall the boys showed that even with a lack of match fitness and sharpness, they still have enough quality to win the match.
The league is shaping up for a two horse race between ourselves and Limbury Saints who Luton beat 11 - 1 in a pre-season friendly.

01/10/06

Luton Borough Youth 9 - 1 Bedford Col. Grasshoppers

     Goalscorers:
     Dominic (4)
     Nick S (2)
     Rocky (1)
     David (1)
     Aaron (1)

Another great victory for Luton Borough Youth. With key players: Adam, Matt and Milon unavailable, this win is even more crucial as it proves that the squad can cope with absences. Our 19 man squad was limited to 12 due to the 7 missing players on the day, including the goalkeeper. Niall (RB) helpfully volunteered to wear the gloves for the day. The 9 goals scored could well have been trebled with the amount of chances created, but Borough are satisfied with yet another dominant performance, and will continue to improve.

24/09/06

Luton Borough Youth 4 - 2 Saint Martins

              Goalscorers:

              Aaron (2)
              Dominic (2)

Borough's first home game of the season started well. The teams started off quite evenly which came as a disappointment to Luton who were hoping for another walkover so they could get back in time for the Man Utd game.
Many chances were created but none were took in the first 30 minutes. This was surprising as the keeper could barely reach the crossbar. Finally in the dying minutes of the first half, Aaron calmly finished a well built chance to put us ahead.
The second half was eventful, with abuse flying about everywhere, admittedly from both sides, and a ridiculous penaltly award near the end; but not before Aaron and Dominic had bagged braces.
After the match, tempers frayed and several humorous songs were chanted towards the opposition, whos support had taken to shouting at our players.
Saint Martins wont be back in Luton in a hurry...

Great game boys.

Dunstable St. Mary's FC  0 - 7 Luton Borough Youth FC

                                Goalscorers:
                        Andy (2)
                        Dave (2)
                        Milon (1)
                         Aaron (1)
                         Rocky (1)

Boro got off to a flying start scoring with little over 30 seconds on the clock. The goals piled up from then onwards. Disgraceful refereeing decisions saw 3 goals dissallowed. Also a penalty was struck against the woodwork. This victory was sweetened by the arrival of the chairman of the chiltern youth league to check up on us, after a heated arguement beforehand in which 4 of our key players were forced not to play due to a slip up in the registration process. The man sat back and watched borough float to victory even without them.

Overall a dominant performance. Well done Borough.
